Cosmetic Acupuncture takes traditional acupuncture treatments to a new level to specifically rejuvenate the face giving a beauty treatment resulting in a relaxed and healthy glow, more youthful and glowing complexion as well as a balanced body and mind.
What is Cosmetic Acupucture?
With the belief that true Beauty comes from within, the application of the ancient art of Chinese medicine and acupuncture relaxes and rejuvenates mind and body and brings radiance and a healthy glow to the face. Many A list celebrities including Gweneth Paltrow, Jennifer Anniston and Kim Kardashian, are all fans of cosmetic acupuncture.
How does Cosmetic Acupuncture work?
Acupuncture points in the body unblock the flow of Qi (essential life force) through the body and send nourishing qi up to the face.
Modern application of micro-needling and facial acupuncture target specific areas of the face and neck direct the Qi to those, increasing the glow, blood supply and collagen production to help clear the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
What will Cosmetic Acupuncture do for me?
After a course of treatment, which takes about four weeks, fine lines and wrinkles will be reduced, dark circles under the eyes will have faded, spots and blemishes will be reduced and the skin will have a healthy, natural glow.
What steps are involved
At your first appointment, we will go through a detailed diagnosis and assessment, where we will discuss expected outcomes and specific requests you may have.
Each treatment has several steps.
Firstly we use points on the body for grounding.
Next, we cleanse the face with rose water.
We then use specific points as required to treat any underlying imbalances. Next we use points to open the channels of energy to the face.
Moving from the body to the head, we use specific points on the head , neck and face to guide the Qi as required.
Next we move onto micro-needling of fine lines, expression lines and wrinkles.
At this point, you will be left to relax for about 20 minutes. Patients usually report that in this time they feel like they gently float away, with different parts of the body and face tingling as the treatment works. Other patients feel like they sink into the recliner, as if someone has wrapped a cosy blanket round them.
After this period of intense relaxation, all the needles are removed and the treatment is concluded with a gentle facial massage. You will leave feeling refreshed and glowing.
How many treatments will I Need?
My recommendation is a course of 6 treatments spread over 3 to 5 weeks, followed by a monthly top up.
Does Cosmetic Acupuncture just treat the face?
Cosmetic Acupuncture is a whole body treatment, which aims to rebalance the body, thus dealing with any other issues at the same time as incorporating the cosmetic aspect.
What Do I Need to Do Before and after my Cosmetic Acupuncture Treatment?
Wear comfortable loose clothing. Which can be rolled up to the knees and elbows and can allow access to some acupuncture points around the belly button.
Eat a light meal or snack about 1 to 2 hours beforehand. Avoid arriving hungry or just after a heavy meal.
Keep Hydrated.
Please don’t wear make up.
After your treatment try to have time to take it easy for yourself. Keep hydrated and avoid alcohol. You can resume your normal care and make up regime after treatment, but ideally give your skin a few hours rest first.
